The upper reaches of the rivers Chikoi and Chikokon are the most beautiful taiga areas of the Chita region. The taiga is represented by cedars (Siberian pine-tree). The air in cedar forests is very wholesome  and ecologically healthy fruits of cedar trees (cedar cones), vast patches of berries (cowberries, bog whortleberries), pure streams and lakes, absolute absence of “civilization” sounds, all these contribute to a man’s biological and psychological health recovery.

Practically, these lands are neither exploited nor inhabited, except a few gold-diggings located in 50 km from the center of ecotours. The most interesting are the following nature sightseeing tours: Lake Shebeti – Mountain Barune-Shabartuy – rock area “Lama’s City”. Lake Shebeti is a mountain lake, located at the altitude of 1600 m (5248 ft), it is surrounded by majestic old cedars. Mountain Barune-Shabartuy is the highest peak in the southern part of the region, here the Ice Age glacial deposition is evidenced by circuses, moraines. “Lama’s City” is a mysterious, unique rocky area; several tens of
rocks are scattered on the territory of about 10 sq. km. in different natural belts (zones). Rocks are sacred for Buddhists.

This territory is practically unexplored. Once in about tree years a group of tourists or hunters visit this area. Accordingly you can freely photograph the beasts in their habitat. Now attempts are made to organize a national park here. The length of the route is from 150 km. It is possible to work out a combined walking-rafting tour, you’ll be able to raft down the Rivers Chikoi, Chikokon, Burcal, which are famous for their fish abundance. The best time for the tour is from June till the middle of September.
